“Arbitration for State Institutions and Organizations Conference” organized by ISTAC took place at Anayasa Mahkemesi Y\u00fcce Divan Salonu (The Constitutional Court) on Monday December 19, 2016.<\/p>\n

In his opening speech, the president of the Constitutional Court Prof. Dr. Z\u00fcht\u00fc Aslan pointed out that the slowness of the courts is a flaw in the judiciary system and that the work load of the civil courts in 2015 was nearly 3.5 million cases. Prof. Aslan continued “the work load of the court of appeal is also known to be over a million cases.” President Aslan stated that arbitration is one of the most efficient ways to solve such issues in the judiciary system.<\/p>\n

TOBB Deputy Chairman Ender Yorganc\u0131lar empasized in his opening speech that Istanbul Arbitration Centre was a very young institution, having been operating only for a year. He continued “ISTAC made an impressive progress with the presidency of Proffessor Ziya Ak\u0131nc\u0131, who is one of the most reputable individuals in his field. ISTAC is providing efficient and quick solutions to the business world with only the half of the cost regulated by the courts. Our Prime Minister has issued a communique encouraging the public offices to include ISTAC arbitration clauses in their local and international agreements. We support these improvement greatly.”<\/p>\n

President of Istanbul Arbitration Centre Prof. Dr. Ziya Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said in his speech “ISTAC is a great example of how great the results of a public and private sector collaboration can be. In other words, the project comes into fruition by itself as we keep working in unity and solidarity.”<\/p>\n

Also at the conference were ISTAC Deputy Chairman Mustafa \u00c7\u0131kr\u0131k\u00e7\u0131o\u011flu, ISTAC Executive Board Members M\u00fcjdat Ke\u00e7eci, Hakan \u00d6ztatar and Rifat Bacanl\u0131 and ISTAC International Board Member Dr. Hamid Gharavi.<\/p>\n

At the conference, Constitutional Court Judicial Clerk Dr.M\u00fccahit Ayd\u0131n, ISTAC International board Member Dr. Hamid Gharavi, ISTAC President Prof. Dr. Ziya Ak\u0131nc\u0131, Bilken University Academic Member Prof. Dr. Bilgin Tiryakio\u011flu, ISTAC Secretary-General Dr. Candan Yasan Tepeta\u015f and ISTAC Advisory Board Member Prof. Dr. Ejder Y\u0131lmaz all gave speeches at the conference and informed many practitioners from public offices all around the country on arbitration and ISTAC Arbitration Rules.<\/p>\n
