The “4. GAR Live Istanbul: Introducing the ISTAC Rules” conference was succesfully held on June 24, 2016 in Istanbul.<\/p>\n

ISTAC international board members Prof. Dr. Bernard Hanotiou and Dr. Hamid Gharavi attended the conference where ISTAC arbitration rules were introduced on an international platform. The president of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) Prof. Dr. Metin Feyzio\u011flu was also at the conference where many local and international lawyers, scholars and experts attended.<\/p>\n

The conference commenced with opening speeches from Jean-Claude Najar (Lazareff Le Bars) and President of ISTAC Prof. Dr. Ziya Ak\u0131nc\u0131.<\/p>\n

In the first session led by Prof. Dr. Ziya Ak\u0131nc\u0131, the structure of the ISTAC arbitration rules and the advantages it provides for international and national arbiration were explained by ISTAC International Board members Dr. Hamid Gharavi and Prof. Dr. Bernard Hanotiau, ISTAC Advisory Committee member Dr. \u0130smail Esin and Atty. Celal Sava\u015f (Siemens Sanayi ve Ticaret A.\u015e.).<\/p>\n

The first session was concluded with a speech from the president TBB, Metin Feyzio\u011flu, who stated that TBB supports ISTAC and future collaborations are expected between TBB and ISTAC.<\/p>\n

In the second session led by Reza Mohtashami (Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer) and Anne V\u00e9ronique (White & Case), participant’s questions about ISTAC arbitration and arbitration rules were answered.<\/p>\n

During the last session led by Jean-Claude Najar, witnesses and expert opinions in arbitration proceedings were discussed. ISTAC Secretary-General Dr. Candan Yasan made a presentation on witnesses and expert opinions in ISTAC administered arbitration.<\/p>\n
